Go back to all news

Are you in need of some inspiration this Easter? Here at Coombe Abbey, we’ve been busy searching high and low for some of the best Easter days out in Coventry and Warwickshire, and here are our final top 4 picks. From Easter egg hunts in some of Warwickshire’s most beautiful countryside, to being creative at the local art gallery, there’s so much to do. In fact, the hardest decision you’ll have to make is which one you’ll do first.

Coombe Country Park

We’re incredibly lucky to have a beautiful park right on our doorstep; a place that’s not only home to breathtaking woodland and wildlife but also a range of fantastic activities over the Easter period. For a start, between 8-23 April there will be an Easter Bunny trail everyday between the hours of 10am and 3pm. You and your family will be tasked with helping find the Easter Safe using a special code. If you find it, you’ll be awarded a special prize!

On top of this, there will be a number of arts and crafts events, including the Teddies’ Easter Party and even a chance to get close to nature with the park’s Pond Dipping activity on the 20th April. This will give you the chance to see what lives in our various ponds, from frogspawn to newts!

Plus, once you’ve exhausted the park’s various activities, you can always look forward to retreating to the Coombe Abbey Hotel for Afternoon Tea in our gorgeous Garden Room.

Easter Market at Fargo Village

For something a little different this Easter, be sure to head over to the super trendy Fargo Village, where it will be opening up its village hall (between 15-17th April) for the annual Easter Market. Altogether, 40 independent retailers will be showcasing their very best products, from food to crafts and even pieces of art. And if you’re with your family, you can take part in the Easter egg hunt, where you’ll find yourself meandering around the village’s various shops in search of chocolate goodies – what a treat!

Easter Challenge at Brandon Marsh

Just a short drive outside of Coventry, and only a 15 minute drive from Coombe Abbey Hotel, is Brandon Marsh nature reserve, a beautiful location that’s perfect for wildlife lovers. This Easter, between 8-23 April, Brandon Marsh will be hosting an Easter Challenge, where you’ll have to follow the Onyx trail in order to claim a place at the top of the leader board. As you stroll along the dedicated paths, you’ll be treated to views of the local birds, including little ducklings and moorhens – it’s the ideal Easter setting.

Be creative at The Herbert

Get your creative juices flowing at Coventry’s The Herbert Art Gallery and Museum between 8-22 April, where they’ll be hosting a number of artsy events for families. One day you could be getting your hands dirty by creating funny portraits using clay, the next you’ll be painting masks in UV colours and busting moves at the Music Movers event. Alternatively, you can simply explore the rest of the art gallery and museum, which hosts a number of fascinating artefacts.

Whatever you decide to do over the Easter holidays, you’ll be well and truly spoilt for choice here in Coventry and Warwickshire. Need a place to stay? Don’t forget to check out our impeccable range of rooms.
