It’s nearly the May bank holiday weekend and we’re looking forward to spending more time outdoors enjoying the warmer springtime weather in Warwickshire. With historic buildings, beautiful countryside parks and museums to visit, there’s plenty of ways to celebrate May Day with the family. To help you get the most out of your long weekend, we’ve compiled our top suggestions on what to do in Coventry and Warwickshire:

Morning Walk at Coombe Country Park

With over 500 acres of of gardens you could happily get lost walking around the award-winning Coombe Country Park. Wander through the woodland or around the lakeside walks, enjoying a bit of springtime sunshine. With plenty of bird watching hideouts, it’s also perfect for wildlife enthusiasts. Afterwards why not grab a light bite in our Garden Bar or make a booking for our delicious afternoon tea – voted as one of the top 30 places to enjoy afternoon tea by The Telegraph experts!

Explore Coventry’s culture

Spend an afternoon in Coventry’s Herbert Art Gallery and Museum, with current exhibitions exploring new art in the West Midlands. Pick up a hot drink in the cafe before visiting historic Coventry cathedral which is conveniently located right next to the Herbert.

Earlsdon Festival

Earlsdon is a suburb of Coventry, well known for its independent shops and cafes. To celebrate the end of the Earlsdon Fringe, which runs from 29 April – 6 May, the Earlsdon Festival is on Monday 7th May. It’s certainly going to be a lively day with more than 10,000 visitors expected to visit. Spend the day browsing the festival stalls showcasing local food produce, art and crafts or watch the live entertainment.
