Coombe Abbey offers our on-line customers a promise that the lowest available rate for your requested stay is published on our website.
You can feel secure in the knowledge that the booking you are making now, will not be found cheaper on any other website or through any other travel agent. You are getting the best available rate that is in the marketplace at the moment, for your requested stay.
If you find a rate published on any other website, on the same day your booking is made on our website, for the same dates, room type and length of stay, then we will refund the difference.
For a claim to be valid under this website promise, it must satisfy the Terms and Conditions below, and submitted to ratepromise@coombeabbey.com in line with the following procedures:
On the day of making a reservation on our website, if you find a lower, published, available room rate for the same dates, length of stay, number of persons, room type and board basis, and advise us on the above email address, Coombe Abbey Hotel will honour the lower rate.
The promise applies to a lower rate with booking rules that are identical to the booking rules of the hotel’s own website, including any pre-payment or cancellation conditions.
In the event of a multiple nights stay, the promise will compare total room cost of the entire stay as booked on the hotel’s own website with the total room cost of the entire stay found at a lower website rate, with identical booking conditions.
If multiple rates have been displayed at the time of your booking on the Coombe Abbey website, for the same reservation dates and room type, you must have reserved the lowest rate to be eligible for the promise.
The promise does not apply to the following rate types:
a) Rates that are not publicly available, such as negotiated corporate or group rates
b) Discount rates offered only to members of groups or individuals who meet previously specified criteria or memberships
c) Package rates that include the room and other components such as travel, car hire, entertainment, and/or non-breakfast meals
d) Package or group add-on rates that extend the length of stay
e) Rates negotiated for stays extending beyond 30 days
f) Rates that are available on auction websites
g) Rates available on websites that do not disclose the hotel brand until the reservation is complete
h) Pre-paid rates that involve a voucher (including electronic vouchers) for a hotel stay
The lower rate must be reservable by the general public and be verifiable by Coombe Abbey. If the lower rate has been booked, Coombe Abbey is not responsible for any fees incurred due to cancellation of the booking.
Coombe Abbey will compare the rates net of any taxes, gratuities or any other fees associated with the room rate that a website may add to the overall inclusive rate for the booking.
Only one claim may be submitted and be eligible for each stay. The offer is subject to availability.
Coombe Abbey reserves the right to modify or cancel this Promise at any time at its sole discretion. In the unlikely event you should need to claim against this promise, please follow these procedures :
Forward your Coombe Abbey booking confirmation email with booking reference together with the website address of where you found the lower rate (if possible please include a screen shot of the room and rate). Your claim should be made within 24 hours of your booking with us and we will investigate and reply to you within one working day. Claims should be made more than 24 hours prior to arrival, to allow us time to investigate your claim. Should the claim be valid we will amend your room rate which you will pay on departure inclusive of the further 10% discount. This rate is prepaid at time of booking – non transferable and non refundable. This rate is available up to one day prior to your arrival date.
There is no charge, and any deposit paid will be returned, if a guaranteed reservation is cancelled at any time up to 3pm the day prior to arrival. This is not applicable to an advanced purchase rate. In the event of non-arrival or cancellation after this time and where the booking has been guaranteed, a charge equivalent to one night’s accommodation at the package rate at which the reservation was made will be levied.

Please note all public events are non-refundable and non-transferable. Any public events that are booked with bedrooms require a £50.00 per person deposit which is non-refundable and non-transferable.

THE PRICE: Whilst the Company will do everything in its power to hold prices for as long a Period as possible, it reserves the right to increase the cost of a Banquet/Murder Mystery/Themed Dinner ticket at any time when economic conditions warrant. If payment is paid in full no price increase will be levied. The price ruling at the date of the booking will be inclusive of VAT (Value Added Tax) at the current rate.
VALUE ADDED TAX: Any variation in the standard rate of VAT which comes into force will be applied to all bookings (from the applicable date) where a balance is still due to the Company and will be leviable at the payment date.
DRESS & BEHAVIOUR: In the interest and enjoyment of other guests the management reserves the right to refuse entry, or to eject any person or party whose behaviour, language or attire is likely to cause offence. It is the party leaders responsibility to make sure that all guests in their party wear a reasonable standard of smart casual attire. Denim and training shoes are not appropriate.
PAYMENT IN ADVANCE ONLY:
A) Balance Payments – The customer is required to pay the full amount at the time of booking. Payments can not be made on the night of the function.
B) Cancellation -The Company also reserves the right to cancel the staging of an event at any time at its discretion without being liable to the customer for any loss or liability howsoever arising out of such cancellation. In the event of cancellation by the Company, the Company shall either refund the customers money or arrange for the booking to be transferred to an available night at the customer’s preference.
C) Refunds – If a customer is unable to attend a function no refund shall be given by the Company. If a function is cancelled by the Company then details as per sub-paragraph C will pertain.
VISITORS PROPERTY: The Company regrets that it cannot accept liability for loss or damage to visitors property.
VISITORS VEHICLES: Vehicles parked at the Company premises are left at the owners risk and the Company cannot accept liability for any losses incurred or damage sustained howsoever arising which occurs at or on the Company premises.
PAYMENT: Payment can be made by the following:
MasterCard/Visa/American Express/Maestro
RECEIPTS: VAT Receipts for monies paid will only be sent upon request.
MISCELLANEOUS: No food or beverage of any kind are permitted to be brought into the Hotel by the client or guests.
The Hotel shall not be liable for any failure to provide contracted facilities in the event of its being prevented from doing so as a result of fire, storm, flood, disturbances, riot, industrial action or any other causes beyond its control.
SMOKING: For the comfort of our cast members and guests, smoking is NOT permitted within the Abbeygate Building. We thank guests in advance for their cooperation.
