Did you know 2020 marks a quarter of a century for Coombe Abbey Hotel?
At first, we couldn’t believe we’ve been open for 25 years. But after we began to recap memories and events that have happened here, the years quickly began to add up.
Join us as we take a look back at a few of our favourite achievements and memories at Coombe Abbey Hotel…
25 years of supporting charities
Since opening our doors, we’ve been big advocates of supporting local charities.
One of these charities is Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice, who provide palliative, respite and end-of-life care to babies and infants, and we’re proud to support the charity through sponsorship. Plus our Management Team also offer business expertise to the charity to help with corporate fundraising activities.
During 2020, as part of our 25 year celebrations, we will be offering customers the chance to add an optional 25p donation to Zoe’s Place on all transactions within the hotel and park.
25 years of going wild with Go Ape
One exciting milestone for Coombe Abbey was being chosen as the location to hold Coventry’s only Go Ape. Set in 500 acres of beautiful parkland, visitors to Coombe Abbey Park can now enjoy the high life up in the treetops when experiencing Go Ape’s adventure challenges.
The launch of Go Ape only helps position Coombe Abbey as a must-visit destination in Coventry and Warwickshire, building on our ethos of offering everlasting experiences for everyone.
25 years of welcoming famous faces
Over the years we’ve hosted many celebrity guests, from Take That (who booked the whole of our Park Priory building) to Gerri Halliwell, Jo Brand, David Bowie, Dermot O’Leary and the cast of Emmerdale.
Jasper Carrot and family enjoyed their daughter’s special wedding day at Coombe Abbey Hotel.
We’re looking forward to seeing who we’ll host during the next 25 years…
25 years of becoming award-winners
We’re proud to have won various industry awards at Coombe Abbey over the years.
These include winning Large Hotel of the Year at the West Midlands Tourism Awards 2020 and Gold in the M&IT’s Best UK Unusual Venue and Best Value for Money Conference Venue 2019.
We never stop striving for success or seeking to improve all of our customers’ experience at Coombe Abbey, so during the next 25 years we’ll also be aiming to continue achieving more prestigious awards!
25 years of mighty mediaeval banquets
Our award-winning mediaeval banquets have been running at Coombe Abbey for 40 years – even longer than our hotel has been open.
It’s a much-loved event by both customers and staff, and we’ve always been passionate about running the banquets as we know just how much everyone enjoys the evening!
During the last 25 years we’ve been able to expand on entertainment available at Coombe Abbey Hotel, including outdoor theatre shows, murder mystery evenings and musical tribute nights.
25 years of launching Flowers at Coombe
During 2019, we introduced Flowers at Coombe, a new on-site florist at Coombe Abbey Hotel. This service allows guests to order bespoke flowers for weddings, celebrations, anniversaries or parties held at Coombe Abbey.
It’s a new exciting venture for the hotel, and one we hope our customers will enjoy. We’re always looking for ways to assist with planning events held at Coombe Abbey Hotel.
