A musical trip back in time is proving to be a major hit for Coombe Abbey, as a soaring demand for its D-Day Darlings event has resulted in additional shows being put on at the hotel.

The D-Day Darlings and afternoon tea event is hitting all the right notes with visitors to Coombe Abbey Hotel, after the first show in May sold-out within weeks.

A new date announced for August has also proved popular, selling out within days and leading to Coombe Abbey Hotel adding a third date for Sunday, September 27. The D-Day Darlings, a trio of female singers who perform popular tunes from the WW2 years, take to the stage for two 45-minute sets, complete with period costume changes, which include the original WRAF uniform.

Alongside the WW2 themed singers’ performance, guests are also able to enjoy afternoon tea as part of the D-Day Darlings event package. Ron Terry, our General Manager, said:

“The D-Day Darlings event has proved to be one of the most popular new additions to the entertainment schedule. The speed at which the tickets have sold out for our first two events shows the demand for this type of event, and as a result we have added a third date in September.

“The mix of nostalgia, great entertainment and the opportunity to enjoy delicious afternoon tea in a glorious setting is proving a big attraction, and we are looking forward to achieving another full house for September’s event.”
