Swinging from the trees and experiencing some adventure with friends and family is what makes Go Ape an unforgettable outdoor experience.

As the UK’s number one forest activity, Go Ape is all about getting out, having fun and being adventurous.

Go Ape Coventry and Warwickshire is set in 500 acres of beautiful parkland which can all be viewed from the treetops here at Coombe Abbey Country Park.

With all that said, we’re sure you can agree that working at Go Ape sounds like the best job in the world!

We spoke to Kate Thompson, a member of the team at Go Ape Coventry to find out what day-to-day life is truly like in the treetops…

1. What does a typical day working at Go Ape look like?

A typical day at Go Ape will consist of getting into your harness, climbing up a zip wire and going through the course to check it’s safe and sound for our guests.

Then we provide the best experience and care for those that are coming to step outside of their comfort zone for a few hours.

We keep them safe, and make sure that whatever it is they’re doing, it’s done with a smile on their face. Having said that, there really are no two days the same and that is what makes the job so exciting!

2. What do you love the most about working at Go Ape?

One of the things I love about working at Go Ape Coventry is creating a positive guest experience.

If the people I’m instructing are happy, then it makes me happy too! In addition to that, I consider myself to be a bit of an adrenaline junkie. So jumping off 13 metre platforms, swinging into our Tarzan net and flying down our 230 metre zip wire all in one day is my idea of a perfect Monday at work.

3. What are the perks of working outdoors at Coombe Abbey?

We’re very fortunate to be located in a beautiful country park like Coombe Abbey, and being outdoors is so refreshing for your mind and body (especially when the weather is good!). The park is easy to get to, and has a lot to offer as well as the activities we provide.

There is no better feeling than starting your day by being up in the trees, having that time to yourself, spotting the wildlife around the park and taking a minute to breathe. It is impossible not to be grateful for it.

4. Why are you most excited to be open again?

The list of reasons is endless. But one main thing is being back outdoors and seeing the team do what they do best. Providing our guests with a positive, exciting experience.

Whether that is climbing through the trees, flying down a zip wire for the first time or throwing an axe to let off a bit of steam. It is the most exciting work environment I’ve ever been a part of.

5. Why should people book in at Go Ape Coventry?

The real question is, why shouldn’t they? With all our different activities, and the potential for even more ventures in the future, there really is an adventure for everybody at Go Ape Coventry and an opportunity to do something you’ve probably never done before.

Be it swinging through the trees or doing a bit of axe throwing (a popular activity for the land lovers), we have something for all ages, all preferences and rest assured our team will make it the best adventure possible.

Go Ape Coventry is the only location where a hotel is also on site, this means guests can really make the most of their visit with an overnight stay at the weekend or half term getaway with the family.
