At Coombe Abbey, we’re proud to support local businesses in Coventry and Warwickshire and as part of a corporate partnership, we’re also sponsoring Wasps Rugby player Marcus Watson.

Discover some of Marcus’ adventures at Coombe Abbey…

Exploring Go Ape

Last summer, Marcus and a few of his Wasps teammates visited Coombe Abbey Park to visit our new Go Ape tree tops experience. Set in 500 acres of beautiful parkland, our high ropes adventure includes an Alpine tree zip-to-zip and a 12-metre vertical drop, The Plummet.

The guys also tested their strength on Go Ape’s Axe Throwing activity to see who could hit the target the most accurately.

An awfully good night at our Murder Mystery evening

Back in January 2018, Marcus brought his fiancé to Coombe Abbey as a belated birthday present to try out our Murder Mystery evening.

Held in our historic Abbeygate Drinking Chamber, our Murder Mystery evenings include a delicious three-course meal, a glass of wine and a post-show disco. We wonder if Marcus detected who the real culprit was during the show?

Playing spot the difference with a life-size cut out

You may have spotted a few life-size cutouts of Marcus dotted around Coombe Abbey Hotel and Park? We loved having Marcus come and visit his cardboard self to take a few pictures, encouraging customers to enter our competition to win tickets to a Wasps game in Coventry.

Why not take a picture and upload to instagram with the hashtag #WaspsatCoombe so we can see all your snaps?

Stay tuned for more updates of what Marcus gets up to on his visits to Coombe Abbey or follow us on our Instagram for behind the scenes photos.
