We’re all for extending the holiday spirit: why stop the fun so soon?
Treat yourself or someone you love to an affordable staycation this winter.
Be it a New Year to remember or something to shake off the January blues, there’s no stay like Coombe Abbey to lift your mood in time for 2023.
On a Coombe Abbey staycation, you can…
1. Enjoy the great outdoors
With 500 acres to roam, there’s no end of routes you can take through our grounds.
Layer up and stroll around our walking trails (hot chocolate optional).
And, if you’re a keen angler, you’re welcome to book tickets to our Fishery through winter. The calm, 80-acre lake covers our heronry and is named a Site of Special Scientific Interest – so keep your eyes peeled for local wildlife.
After something more fast-paced? Brave the Treetop Challenge at our on-site Go Ape.
2. Explore The Avenue at Coombe
We can’t promise dry skies every day of the year. But we’ve got you covered at The Avenue should the heavens open.
Visit our indoor Artisan Market and stock up if you’re feeling a quiet night in. It’s home to fresh local produce, with everything from easy meal kits to deli produce (and a tipple or two).
Or, let a dessert from the Sundae Club warm you up.
If you’re celebrating an occasion with us, why not say it with flowers? Our florist at Coombe has over 30 years’ experience in wedding flowers and professional bouquets.
3. Take a well-earned break
It’s been a busy year, and a winter break is supposed to be…well, a break.
Let us take the reins as you relax in Coombe Abbey Hotel’s exquisite suites. Why not choose the Lucy Room, complete with:
- A spacious lounge area
- A four-poster bed with a hidden TV
- An ornate Victorian-style claw-foot bath
And, with room service available in all bedchambers, you can turn dinner into a private affair.
4. Take classic Afternoon Tea
Whether you’ve spent your morning ambling or axe-throwing, you’re sure to have built up an appetite.
Coombe Abbey is named as one of the 30 best sites to enjoy afternoon tea in the UK, so you’d be something of a Mad Hatter not to try it.
For a luxury traditional tea, we recommend the Abbot’s. This sweet and savoury selection includes the finger sandwiches and fresh scone you’d expect, plus an exciting array of mini patisserie.
We’ll take the Miso Caramel, Toasted Sesame Seed, and Nutella Choux Bun…
5. Make the most of our events
Why stay in this winter? We’re making party season last, and whether you’re visiting with family or friends, there’s a trip to remember at Coombe.
Join us in one of Coombe’s historic dining rooms for a romantic Valentines five course dinner for two. Make special memories with your loved one at a candlelit dinner with our blissful live pianist and let us spoil you on the 14th February.
Or why not enjoy a hearty feast at one of our award-winning Mediaeval banquets for an entertaining night with your friends and family? After being welcomed with a glass of mead, you’ll sit down to a four-course banquet and a live stage show…where the drama all unfolds.
Affordable luxury at Coombe Abbey
We’re not ready to see you go! Avoid a late-night drive and settle down in the stunning Coombe Abbey Hotel for a while longer…
Turn your trip into a 2-night stay, in one of our feature rooms for 2 people, plus dinner and breakfast throughout for just £399 (available Sunday to Thursday, Jan to March 2023). This works out at only £83 per night – we call that affordable luxury!
