This year Father’s Day will be on the 19th June, and if you’re looking for a way to really show your appreciation for your dad, we’re here to help. From celebratory lunches, to enjoyable walks and sightseeing throughout Warwickshire there’s plenty to do during a trip to Coombe Abbey. So take a look, be inspired, and spoil your dad this Father’s Day.

Celebrate with lunch

If you’re really looking to spoil your dad this Father’s Day, then lunch in The Cloisters (the Craven family’s old dining room) is a brilliant choice. Start off with a glass or two of Champagne, followed by one of the delicious starters, such as our English charcuterie board or basil panna cotta with heritage tomato salad. Dig into a main of roasted rump of beef, and finish your afternoon with a delicious dessert – our favourite is the dark chocolate brownie, served with mouth-watering peanut butter ice cream and sprinkles of honeycomb.

Wander around Coombe Abbey park

Thankfully Father’s Day lands in June, a month where we finally get to embrace the long awaited sunshine. If you want to make the most of the summer weather, be sure to take your dad on a stroll around our hotel’s neighbouring Coombe Abbey park. On top of the stunning floral gardens and swan ponds, you’ll get to explore the extensive forest and the vast green fields, which make for the perfect place to enjoy a family picnic.

Spoil him with Afternoon Tea

Fancy treating your dad to an Afternoon Tea with a twist? Then head over to Coombe Abbey for our Knight’s Gentleman’s Tea, which features a number of scrumptious goodies, including scotch eggs, crumbly pork pies and venison sausage rolls – divine. All washed down with plenty of tea and pints of our home-brewed beer, you and your dad are sure to have a fantastic evening in a breathtaking setting.

Check out the local sights

Warwickshire is a stunning location, with plenty of fascinating cultural and historical sights to be enjoyed. If your dad is a bit of history and culture buff, then a day out to the many local towns should definitely be on the cards. From the small market town of Rugby, renowned for being the home of Rugby football, to Stratford-upon-Avon where you can learn all about William Shakespeare and explore his past, there’s plenty to keep him occupied.
