The picturesque Warwickshire village of Dunchurch is filled with history, notably its association with the gunpowder plot, as the conspirators retreated there to wait at a local inn called The Red Lion (now a private residence called Guy Fawkes House) for news. The village today has a lovely  atmosphere…stroll through and you’ll see so many timeless buildings. When it comes to walks, look to nearby Draycote Water a reservoir and Country Park. With a five mile circular around it, Draycote Water has a natural, calming beauty, and with plenty of opportunity to spot wildlife as well as a children’s play area within the Country Park if you’re walking with little ones and want to take a break on the way, this is a great place for a stroll. Let your feet guide you to The Dun Cow, an atmospheric country inn, full of rural charm and a menu filled with delicious, seasonal pub food… the perfect reward for that hearty walk!
