Feel the sense of history in our old deer park, landscaped by Capability Brown in the 18th century and where historically deer once grazed.
Walks in the Old Deer Park offer stunning views of the park and the Abbey, historical interpretation and sight of the beginnings of restoration.
The Old Deer Park is currently grazed by sheep, bringing a link back to the monastic period of the site where the Abbey made its money from the wool trade.
Pick up your guide and map, available from the Information Desk, and walk the Discover Capability Brown trail which is 2.5 miles.
Our helpful staff will be happy to assist you with any queries or concerns you may have on your visit. They can also advise on what to see and do in the park that day.
For more information, you can visit us at the Visitor Centre when you arrive which is open every day from 10:00am – 4:00pm.
In the Visitor Centre you will find the Discovery Centre, with interactive exhibitions for children, and also the Gift Shop.
