No sunshine? No problem.

Now that the colder days are coming, you might think you’re out of places to visit in Coventry.

But there’s no need to sit and twiddle your thumbs – there’s lots going on at Coombe Abbey all through the autumn and winter.

1. Set up camp at the Adventure outdoor cinema

Snuggle down and enjoy a performance at our open-air outdoor theatre.

We’ve been watching plays outside for hundreds of years, so why stop now? We’ll honour the Shakespearean tradition of outdoor theatre, while kick starting spooky season with some Halloween favourites like Hocus Pocus (PG) and The Shining (15) showing on Saturday 22nd and 23rd October.

We just ask that you wrap up warm, and bring a blanket or camping chair. And who knows – a hot chocolate or a nightcap from our on-site outlets may help too.

2. Watch the seasons change at Go Ape

We love to see all the shades of autumn leaves here at Coombe – so why not get up close and personal? Look over our stunning woodland from above in everyone’s favourite treetop adventure.

Go Ape Coventry is situated right here in the Coombe Abbey grounds. Grab a friend and brave the 200m dual zip wire during your stay.

Plus, we won’t let a little rain stop you from having fun. Go Ape is open in all weathers except for ice, thunderstorms, and gales  – there’s a whole canopy of trees to shelter you.

3.  Get the creeps at the Haunted Halloween and Gunpowder Gala Banquet

Our banquets take a ghoulish turn as Halloween and Bonfire Night approaches. Invite brave friends or family to this evening of fun, food, and frights.

You’ll each enjoy a four-course meal consisting of perfectly themed dishes such as ‘The Baron’s broth’ starter, ‘The Royal Rib’ and ‘My Lorde’s Chicken’ main courses with ‘The Courte Crumble’ dessert. You’ll also be able to experience a full stage show, plus a goblet of mead on arrival. Then, there’s a spine-tingling, toe-tapping Halloween disco or a spectacular firework display over the lake to finish the night.

Can’t make it? You’ll only have to wait a few days before our Gunpowder Gala Banquet, taking place on the 4th and 5th of November, a thrilling recount of the night that almost changed London forever.

As with all our banquets, you’ll enjoy the four-course meal, stage performance, and post-show after party – but there’s a little treason and plot sprinkled in.

All guests must be 16+ to attend. Arrive in your best smart casual dress or medieval attire!

4. Witness an incredible light display with Luminate
