From dining in our Garden Room Restaurant, to exploring our Country Park or attending one of our mediaeval events, we’ve picked out a few of our favourite reviews to reminisce.
We Cook, You Carve
The Bhanga family enjoyed their We Cook You Carve private dining experience in October 2020. Describing their experience as “brightening their year”, the family said in a review how our team made them feel like royalty!
“Thank you so much for our experience today! It was honestly one of the loveliest dinners we’ve ever eaten. It was fresh, delicious and everything was perfect. We actually felt like royalty, honestly can’t thank you enough. 2020 has been such a difficult year and this has really brightened our year.”
Hearty Sunday Lunches
Our renowned Sunday Lunches are popular amongst many of you who love a roast dinner with all the trimmings. We particularly love this review from Sophie, who dined with us in October 2020 and said her experience did not disappoint.
“The presentation was amazing and the food was so delicious. I went for the beetroot carpaccio and pork roast dinner and I couldn’t recommend it enough. Held in the beautiful Cloisters room it gave such a lovely feel to the whole experience. Will be returning again for sure!”
A stay steeped in history: “Amazing hotel”
It’s difficult to visit Coombe Abbey Hotel and not be blown away by the sweeping driveway and beautiful historic building. The unique experience of staying at our hotel was not lost on Steph, who stayed at Coombe Abbey in August 2017 and describes her experience as ‘exquisite’.
“What an outstanding experience we had. From the moment we arrived the staff were warm and welcoming. For anyone who loves their historic sites, Coombe Abbey ticks all the boxes; steeped in history it is both an imposing and intriguing site. The grounds are magnificent and a delight to explore with the country park literally on the doorstep.”
Tom also agrees, with a review he left following a stay in August 2019:
“Amazing hotel, steeped in history in the heart of England. We stayed for 2 nights in August 2019, on arrival the WOW factor begins. We received a warm welcome on arrival and were very impressed by the quality of the rooms and hotel interior.
“The hotel is set in beautiful surroundings, the decor inside is amazing, lots of history throughout, drinks garden to the rear, lovely gardens, fantastic restaurant, good drinks/food selection, quality food, friendly staff and in general a lovely environment to relax and recharge.”
Celebrating special occasions
We love being part of your special celebrations – whether that’s birthdays, weddings or anniversaries.
Trudy visited Coombe Abbey Hotel to celebrate her mum’s 75th birthday in November 2020:
“What a beautiful treat, the staff were exceptional! Polite, super friendly, fast service, the food, well full credit to the chefs behind the scene, and last but not least, the talented piano player, beautiful voice, lovely and soft, could have sat there for more hours to listen to him.
“Also huge thanks for the sweet birthday plate of macaroons and singing happy birthday, what a total surprise, it left us teary and overwhelmed as we hadn’t made a fuss with Covid, so this just blew us away! My parents loved the hotel and we will most certainly be back to stay in one of your incredible rooms again.”
Karen also left us a fantastic review after enjoying a mediaeval wedding for her brother-in-law in The Abbeygate in October 2019.
“Had an amazing experience at my brother-in-law’s wedding. Would highly recommend the Medieval Banquet if you want a really different evening, the food and entertainment was fantastic. The family all agree it’s the best wedding we’ve been to. Our overnight stay and the breakfast was fab!”
Experience unique events: “The whole family enjoyed it”
We’ve also enjoyed hearing about all of your experiences at our events over the years – from our Murder Mystery nights to our Mediaeval Banquets and musical evenings. Peter, who visited in October 2017 for one of our Mediaeval Banquet said he “loved the medieval night.”
“Great performance by all the actors. The whole family enjoyed it – a fantastic weekend had by myself, wife and daughter.”
Whilst Paula who stayed at Coombe Abbey Hotel following a Murder Mystery evening in January 2018 said: “The room was warm and comfortable and just perfect. The murder mystery meal was delicious and I had a great time. Breakfast the next day I can only say is one of the nicest I have ever had. I highly recommend a stay here. Thanks Coombe Abbey.”
