New Year is less than 4 weeks away, and with such a big event it only makes sense to do it in style. And that’s where Coombe Abbey comes in. From our super fancy Black Tie Ball to our classic Mediaeval New Year Banquet, we’ve got an event for you. So whether you prefer mead over fizz, or black tie over armour, here are our two biggest nights of 2017.
If you fancy ringing in the New Year in style, our New Year’s Eve Black Tie Ball in the beautiful Marquee is a must. Don your best glad rags for this glamorous occasion, where you’ll be greeted with flutes of Champagne and canapés. From there, you’ll be treated to an exquisite six-course dinner that’ll be accompanied by live entertainment.
Once you’ve had your fill of tasty treats, make your way over to our evening disco where you’ll be able to dance away the evening, well until the clock strikes 12. That’s because at midnight, you’ll enjoy our New Year firework display alongside the Gaelic tunes of a traditional Highland piper. It’s the perfect way to see in 2018.
For a New Year with a mediaeval twist, our Mediaeval New Year Banquet is just the event for you. As you wander in, dressed in your best mediaeval attire, you’ll be greeted with a cup of mead, delectable canapés and an introduction from our very own staff of mediaeval hosts.
The banquet will be held in our charming mediaeval Abbeygate, where you’ll dig into a four-course feast fit for a king or queen. Not only that, but throughout your meal, our mediaeval show will take place ensuring you not only get a bellyful of food but of laughter too.
Following the entertainment, bust some moves and shapes in our disco, and then see in the New Year with a firework display Guy Fawkes would be proud of.
In the mood for a more low key affair? Why not enjoy our Afternoon Tea and New Year Countdown event on 29th and 30th December, which now includes a 50% discount. Taking place in our gorgeous Marquee, you’ll be able to sample our renowned traditional afternoon tea whilst listening to live music, which will include hits such as The Best is Yet to Come by Frank Sinatra and Happy New Year by Abba. Perfect for children, adults and grandparents, this is an ideal get together for the whole family and a great way to ring in the New Year.
Feeling inspired for the New Year? Whatever you decide to do, and whoever you decide to sing along to Auld Lang Syne with, we hope you have a wonderful Christmas and New Year. Here’s to 2018!
